The Most Unbelievably Expensive Celebrity Divorces
The moral of the story when it comes to celebrity divorces is eloquently stated by rapper Drake: "Make sure you hit him with the prenup!" Not that Drake would know, but wise words nonetheless. If you think the average person's divorce is bad, that's multiplied by a thousand when you have money and fame. Famous celebrities with millions to their name put it all on the line when they get married. A lot of the time, half of a celebrity's fortune is ordered to go to their significant other when things go south. Not only that, but having your divorce broadcasted through the media for the world to see just makes things worse. While some celebrity couples opt to keep their divorce proceedings as private as possible, others have no problem airing out their dirty laundry. But do you know how much these stars actually paid for their divorces? Check out which of your favorite failed couples made this list of the 22 most expensive celebrity divorces!
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard
In 2016, Amber Heard filed for divorce from Johnny Depp after only 15 months of marriage. They were married for only three years and he had to pay her $80,000 in child support upon their split.
Prince Charles and Princess Diana
Much like that of the more recent marriages of their children, their relationship seemed like a fairy tale love story. As well know now, that was the furthest thing from the truth. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were one of the biggest celeb power couples of the mid-2000s, but it all came crashing down in 2012 when Holmes filed for divorce. The two had only been married for 72 days before Kardashian filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. Rodman's ex-wife Carmen Electra, whom he had divorced just one year prior to meeting Moyer, stated after their divorce that it was an "occupational hazard" to be in a relationship with Rodman. Yikes...
